1^st International Conference for Law Students

We kindly invite you to participate at the first International Conference for Law Students organized by the European Faculty of Law in Nova Gorica.

The subject is:

THE LEGAL ASPECTS OF A WELFARE STATE IN THE ECONOMIC RECESSION

The Conference participants will be law students from different European countries. Due to this fact the working language of the Conference will be English.

This Conference will in some way also be a competition, which means that the students will contribute to the subject by providing their own articles. These articles need to be sent until 25^th April 2010 to the following e-mail address: info@icls.si. The mentors will then choose maximum 7 best contributions.  The results will be available on 11^th May 2010 on the website of the Conference. The authors of the best contributions will introduce their articles during the final event of the Conference, which will take place on 28^th and 29^th May 2010 in Nova Gorica, Slovenia. At the end of the Conference three different prizes will be awarded. The first prize will be awarded for the best article, the second one will be awarded for the most original article and the third prize will be awarded for the best introduction.

The main purpose of the Conference is to encourage law students to consider the up-to-date subject of a welfare state, which is present in all the participating countries and in other places in the world, too. Special emphasis will be put on the issue of the economic recession and how this affects the principle of a welfare state.

Participation at the international Conference of law students is a great opportunity for all those, who would like to consider up-to-date issues in the world today, who would like to improve their abilities for argumentation and writing articles. It is also a great chance for those who would like to find out more about the situation in other countries and face practical work that every lawyer in the world faces.

We have invited some experts in the area of law, who will cooperate with us in organizing the Conference and also in choosing the best contributions. In addition, support to this Conference was given by sponsors in the form of prizes for the best participants.
